Privacy policy

This policy explains what Lawport, Inc. (“Lawport”, “we”) collects when you use lawport.net and the firm sites and email we host, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect what we need to run a directory, we do not sell it, and we do not read your email.

What we collect

• Searches. What you searched for and the city you searched in, so we can show results and improve them.
• Contacts. When you call or message a firm through Lawport, we record that the contact happened, when, and whether the firm responded. We do not record the call.
• Reviews. What you write, and enough to confirm you were actually a client.
• Accounts. For firms: the people who manage the profile and their contact details.

Firm websites and email

For firms that host a website or email with Lawport, we process that content on the firm's behalf and only as the firm instructs. Forms submitted on a firm's site go to the firm. Email sent to a firm's Lawport-hosted address is delivered to the firm.

Sharing

We share contact details with a firm only when you choose to contact that firm. We share aggregate statistics, such as how quickly firms in a city respond, with anyone who asks, because we think it's useful.

Your privacy choices

You can ask us for a copy of your data or to delete it by writing to privacy@lawport.net. We will do it, and we will not ask why, although we may ask which account.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember the last city you searched. We do not use cookies to follow you around the rest of the internet. The rest of the internet does that on its own.
