Lawport was founded in 2011 by people who needed a lawyer and found that finding one was, itself, a legal matter.

Today Lawport lists 1.2 million attorneys in all 50 states. Around nine million people a month use it to find one, read about them, and decide whether to call. We measure whether firms call back, because it turns out that is most of what people want to know.

What we believe

• Finding a lawyer should take less time than explaining why you need one.
• Ratings should come from clients, not from the lawyer's cousin. We check.
• Sponsored results should say “Sponsored”. Ours do.
• A firm that calls back deserves to be found first. A firm that doesn't deserves to know.

Lawport also hosts profile websites and email for the firms it lists, at yourfirm.lawport.net, and connects them to the call tracking and intake tools they already use. Learn more.

Careers

We're a team of about 140, mostly remote, plus a dog who has not been formally hired. We are not hiring lawyers. We are hiring people who can tell a lawyer from a lawyer-shaped professional.
